MefCO2, a EU funded project (H2020) is seeking to demonstrate the economic feasibility of valorising captured CO2 by turning it into a versatile platform chemical and renewable fuel such as methanol using hydrogen produced from renewable energy surplus. Essentially methanol becomes an energy carrier for renewable energy from non-biological sources, such as wind and solar.
A 400t/y pilot plant is being built up which is aimed to be scaled up to 10,000 t/y and 50,000t/y in the mid- and long terms respectively.
- Project management and coordination, including communication with the project officer and European Commission authorities.
- Business plan definition and follow-up, including the associated actions to exploit project’s results and IP.
- Definition and development of project’s dissemination and communication actions, including the organization of specific events.
